Drawing and painting for me is a bit like travelling: experiencing constantly new situations, being free to change directions anytime, and even change ones identity.

Originally from Germany, I travelled around the world and ended up living in New Zealand. I am here since 1984, with an interruption of seven years when I lived in Holland. That’s when I started drawing, mainly due to a lack of space and a box of coloured pencils sent to me by a friend from Germany. Before that I painted in acrylic, watercolour and gouache.

All the drawings on this website are made with coloured pencils (as opposed to water-soluble pencils).
